Lotus Behavioral Health is a teen addiction and mental health treatment center in Winter Springs, Florida, serving adolescents ages 12–17. Our residential, outpatient, and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs provide individual and group therapy in a safe, supportive setting. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), our licensed professionals help teens address substance use and mental health concerns while guiding families through the recovery process. James Ekbatani is the founder of Lotus Behavioral Health and the chairman of its board of directors. He established this nonprofit organization in 2021 following a tragic experience with substance use within his immediate family. James provided the seed funding for the initiative, as well as a 20,000-square-foot facility to house the program. His decision to invest in this organization stems from a deep commitment to helping youth around the world. James Ekbatani, a veteran healthcare entrepreneur, has been instrumental in building successful healthcare companies for the past 35 years. His most recent venture involved creating the largest mobile healthcare organization in the United States, focused on delivering preventive medicine to nearly two million seniors across 26 states.
Gary Hazy serves as the Executive Director of Lotus Behavioral Health. With a career spanning over 20 years in the behavioral health field, Gary has dedicated his efforts to transforming the lives of children and families facing challenging circumstances. Fueled by a passion for making a positive impact, he has been a tireless advocate for accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based care. His experience across multiple states and in diverse roles has given him a deep understanding of both the mental health care field and the youth he serves. Known for his exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to inspire others, Gary fosters a collaborative environment where team members are challenged, held accountable, and empowered to thrive. He values the expertise of Lotus Behavioral Health’s dedicated staff and believes in supporting them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children in their care. Gary remains steadfast in his mission to transform lives and improve the overall well-being of the community. Matthew Langford is a certified clinical therapist with over a decade of experience in mindfulness and meditation. A graduate of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy, Matthew completed more than 1,000 hours of clinical training and now serves as a certified instructor and examiner for the institute. With a deep commitment to community wellness, Matthew has extensive experience working with both residential and outpatient facilities, helping connect children and families to life-saving resources. He believes in the power of love, patience, and forgiveness to help individuals rediscover their true nature and heal. Through his work, Matthew strives to empower families, foster healing, and build stronger communities that come together to provide essential services to those in need.
Christopher Bevan is the Director of Information Technology at Lotus Behavioral Health, where he leads the implementation of technology solutions to enhance care for clients facing substance use and mental health challenges. He also plays a key role in compliance efforts and project management in support of Lotus Behavioral Health’s mission. With over a decade of leadership experience in healthcare information technology, Christopher has worked with teams across the country to improve health outcomes through innovative tech strategies. He has collaborated closely with providers and insurance companies to develop more efficient and accurate technology solutions and processes. As mental health and substance use disorders continue to affect families, friends, and communities, Christopher is excited to be part of the Lotus Behavioral Health team—committed to expanding support and knowledge throughout Central Florida and beyond.
Gabriel Dominguez-Contreras is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Master’s Level Addiction Professional (MCAP). Gabriel completed his Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan, P.R. He is bilingual in Spanish (native) and English (professional proficiency). Gabriel's experience includes more than 8 years providing psychotherapy to individuals, families, and couples—supporting both teenagers and adults with mental health and substance use disorders. As Clinical Manager for Lotus Behavioral Health, his mission continues to be to renew and restore wholeness to individuals and their families impacted by substance use and mental health disorders, in an environment characterized by excellence in adult, adolescent, and family-focused care. Gabriel is committed to creating a nurturing and therapeutic environment that fosters a healthy lifestyle in clients, helping them achieve sustainable healing from the effects of alcohol, substance use, and mental health disorders. Gabriel's characteristics and skills include leadership, multicultural sensitivity, strong communication, excellent listening, critical thinking, trustworthiness, and integrity. Among his passions and interests are unconditional love for his family, a deep connection and devotion to a higher power, self-care through sports and physical activities, and being a positive influence in society and the community.
Michele Guzman is our Family Resource Coordinator. A devoted mother on a mission, Michele was inspired to take action after struggling to find appropriate services for her adolescent son early in his battle with addiction. Now, through her role at Lotus Behavioral Health, Michele is dedicated to empowering families and loved ones affected by substance use. She provides support, education, and advocacy services to help others navigate the challenges of addiction with strength and hope.
Lourdes Gonzalez Lebron is a dedicated registered nurse with over a decade of experience in healthcare. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from the Technological Institute of Puerto Rico, Guayama Campus, in 2011 and is currently completing her Bachelor's degree at NUC University. Passionate about caring for others, Lourdes began her career with the Puerto Rico National Guard, where she administered vaccines and managed medical profiles. She later expanded her expertise in phlebotomy and laboratory assistance. In 2016, she relocated to Orlando, Florida, where she advanced to the role of Nurse Supervisor and gained extensive experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Now serving as Nurse Director at Lotus Behavioral Health, Lourdes is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients, families, and staff while ensuring her team delivers consistent, high-quality medical care. She believes Lotus Behavioral Health is the ideal place to continue developing her skills and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.
Nadine Massilon, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She brings over 15 years of experience in healthcare, including more than eight years as a healthcare provider. Nadine has developed a deep commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. She specializes in psychiatric wellness, offering comprehensive evaluations and medication management services. Her empathetic approach, combined with clinical expertise, creates a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to achieve lasting wellness.
Dr. Watkins has been practicing psychiatric medicine for over 14 years. He completed his adult psychiatry training at Columbia University, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Texas. Dr. Watkins works closely with his team to provide the safest and highest quality care to the children they serve. He encourages excellence, fosters collaboration, and remains deeply committed to improving overall wellness and quality of life.
